Occult studies have fascinated students seeking hidden and higher knowledge starting with the ancient greeks and continuing through the centuries. Occult (from Latin "Occultus" is a category of hidden supernatural beliefs and practices. In the 19th century Europe it became associated with Eliphas Levi and Pupus and in 1875 it was introduced into the english speaking world by the esotericist Helena P. Blavatsky. 

In modern time it refers to a range of esoteric subjects such as Qabalah, Spiritualism, Hermeticism and New Age sub-categories such as Astrology, Psychic Work, Divination Tools, etc.
