Fluorite is a calcium fluoride crystal with a harness of 4 on the Moh scale. It grows as a cubic or octahedral pattern and is found in hydrothermal veins associated with Quartz, Barite and Calcite. Specimens comes from China, Mexico, Germany, England, Argentina and in the USA. Fluorite is found in a wide range of colors and can also come in varied colors within one stone. Fluorite is named after is fluorescence properties which appears under ultraviolet light.
