Rhodonite is a manganese metasilicate mineral with a triclinic crystal system with a hardness of 5.5 to 6 on the Mohs scale. Its name is derived from the Greek word meaning ‘red rose’. It is found in Sweden, Australia, India, Madagascar, Mexico, South Africa, Brazil, Canada and USA.
