Description
Ancestral oracle of the Celts uses the archetypes of the Celtic world to connect us to our ancestors, allowing us to consult them for guidance and insight, to clarify our thinking.
With an 88pp guidebook and 40 cards (beautifully illustrated by Wil Kinghan) embodying archetypes of the Celtic world, this fantastic interactive oracle offers a way of consulting and communicating with our ancestors, whatever our race or culture. Two sets of cards make up the Oracle: 1. Divine Ancestor Cards: these eight cards represent the ancestors from whom everyone is descended – the matriarch (goddess) and patriarch (god) archetypes. 2. Clan Cards: these 32 cards represent the circle of Common Ancestors, who hold a huge collective of wisdom. There are four clans: Truth, Honour, Sovereignty and Wisdom, each one based on a category of Celtic society (farmers, warriors, nobles and artists/craftspeople).
Draw a single card for immediate guidance or do spreads of three to eight cards for a more in-depth reading (these are detailed in the guidebook). The oracle given by the Clan Cards helps you make decisions, navigate challenging situations and follow your highest path, while questions posed by the Divine Ancestors question your attitude to the issue you’re asking about and help you understand your own deeper motives. These ancestor cards are also perfect for approaching problems within a family or social group, including those passed down from recent ancestors as well as those generated in the current era.

The SeerThe Seer is a maiden with the gift of the sight. Drawn upright, this card suggests you should stand out of the way of your rational understanding and sense the truth for yourself. Drawn reversed, The Seer means that whatever you have held to be truth in this matter is not the actual reflection in reality. Something you have not seen or imagined is going to change things. You can see through deceptive impressions if you ask discerning questions before you commit yourself. |
The TrackerThe Tracker is a scout who can discern the minute signs of the passage of animals and men. If you draw this card upright, this card means you have already seen the tracks, Be ready. Blend into the background as you wait. Seek assistance from those who support you or draw upon their special skills. If you draw the Tracker card reversed, you may be missing the signs or mistaking the hints. What you seek is under your nose and you are refusing to see it. Look more closely or more widely. Check the context. You are perhaps looking in the wrong place or are about to make a mistaken decision. Tread carefully. |
The MotherThe Mother has done battle with the pains of childbirth and proudly produced children of her lineage. She is a mother of heroes and heroines, the great, bold achievers who inherit their courage from her. She knows the secrets of intimate desire and fuels her hearth by her providence. If you are waiting for an opening or opportunity, watch for the signs and take it quickly. However if you draw the Mother card reversed, consider that ambition and calling in favours or other agreements might have got you so far but now it is |
