Description
Fundamentals of Esoteric Philosophy provide an excellent introduction to HPB’s masterwork, yet it stands on its own as a clear restatement of theosophy. It is a series of lecturers from Dr. Purucker’s private SD studies that Katherine Tingley sponsored. These lectures provide an excellent introduction to H. P. Blavatsky’s masterwork, yet it stands on its own as a clear restatement of the philosophy expounded by all great thinkers and sages.
Beginning with the three fundamental postulates of the SD, the presentation moves to cosmic and human evolution, with emphasis on the interconnectedness of all beings. Other topics include man s nature and destiny; avataras and buddhas; initiation, the Mysteries, and ethical values.

Author
Gottfried de Purucker
(1874 – 1942)
G. de Purucker born in 1874 at Suffern, New York, was son of an Anglican minister who later served as chaplain of the American Church in Geneva, Switzerland. There his studies specialized in Hebrew, Latin, and Greek in preparation for the ministry. However, subsequent study of the early Church Fathers, Eastern philosophies, and Sanskrit led him to theosophy. Dr. de Purucker was head of the Theosophical Society from 1929 until his death in 1942. Perhaps his greatest contribution to spiritual thought has been his elucidation of the writings of H. P. Blavatsky.
