Fluorite is a calcium fluoride crystal with a harness of 4 on the Mohs scale. It grows as a cubic or octahedral pattern and is found in hydrothermal veins associated with Quartz, Barite and Calcite. Fluorite is found in a wide range of colors and can also come in varied colors within one stone. Fluorite is named after is fluorescence properties which appears under ultraviolet light.
