Rhodonite is a manganese metasilicate mineral with a triclinic crystal system with a hardness of 5.5 to 6 on the Mohs scale. The name derives from the Greek word meaning 'red rose'.  It is comes from Sweden, Australia, India, Madagascar, Mexico, South Africa, Brazil, Canada and USA.
